Coke Oven High-Ammonia Nitrogen Residual Ammonia Stripping and Concentration Process
Currently, most coking enterprises in China use the traditional ammonia distillation process to produce only about 10% ammonia water, and the total volume of this approximately 10% concentration ammonia water is so large that it leads to significant amounts of desulfurization waste liquid in the subsequent sulfur removal section.
Product Details
Current Situation and Issues: Currently, most coking enterprises in China use the traditional ammonia distillation process to produce only about 10% ammonia water, and the large total volume of this approximately 10% concentration ammonia water leads to significant amounts of desulfurization waste liquid in the subsequent sulfur removal stage.
Solution: Residual ammonia preparation process package for producing ≥20% concentrated ammonia water + main equipment supply model (main equipment: reboiler + acid-removal ammonia distillation tower + ammonia separator condenser + ammonia condensing cooler)
Advantages: Producing concentrated ammonia water at ≥20% reduces the total ammonia volume by approximately 60% compared to conventional 10%-level ammonia solutions. This significant reduction in ammonia usage during the desulfurization process not only helps replenish ammonia in the desulfurization system but also effectively addresses the issue of liquid expansion in the desulfurization solution. As a result, this technology simultaneously resolves environmental concerns and dramatically lowers the production and operational costs associated with treating desulfurization waste liquids.
Process flow: The remaining raw material ammonia water, after alkali-based decomposition to fix ammonium, is pumped into the ammonia stripping tower. A small portion (approximately 25%–30% of the feed ammonia water) is fed directly into the top section of the tower, while the remaining part is preheated by exchanging heat with the qualified wastewater from the bottom of the tower before being introduced as hot feed into the middle section of the tower (just below the packing layer in the acid-removal zone at the top). This process leverages the partial pressure of volatile components in the residual ammonia water, enabling the top of the tower to achieve a high concentration of acidic components. The ammonia vapor drawn off from the side line is then cooled and condensed into ammonia water of proper concentration after its temperature is controlled by a condenser. Meanwhile, the tower bottom is indirectly heated using low-pressure steam, ensuring that the NH₃ content in the wastewater discharged from the bottom meets the required standards.

Suitable application areas:
Coal coking, coal chemical industry, semi-coke, oil refining and petrochemicals, fertilizer and pharmaceuticals, metal smelting, battery materials—these industries all require tailored equipment capable of efficiently removing high levels of ammonia nitrogen from wastewater and coal gas.
