Time flies—before we know it, it’s already the New Year again. In the past year of 2022, we faced challenges and overcame difficulties. Though there were obstacles along the way, we achieved some notable milestones and delivered a relatively satisfying performance to our customers and partners across various sectors.

Facing challenges such as pandemic lockdowns, raw material shortages, and transportation difficulties, Rio Tinto employees have always kept in mind the principle of putting customers first and striving for product excellence, successfully delivering all tasks and targets on time.

Looking back at Rio Tinto's remarkable journey in 2022

Throughout our journey, we’ve overcome countless obstacles while staying true to our original aspirations. In the days ahead, we’ll continue serving our customers with even more professional, refined, distinctive, and innovative products and equipment!

This is the only cleanroom facility in Central China capable of handling production volumes exceeding one million units. The facility spans an area of 2 × 3,000㎡. Its launch has elevated our company’s intelligent manufacturing capabilities in specialized material equipment and non-ferrous metal machinery to a new level, enabling us to produce up to 1,000 tons per year of advanced-material equipment—including titanium, zirconium, tantalum, Hastelloy alloys, nickel-based alloys, super-austenitic stainless steel, and super-duplex steel.

This set of ammonia distillation system equipment utilizes Rio Tinto's 20% concentrated ammonia technology and represents the first project of its kind—exported to Indonesia's Sulawesi Island as part of a coking project. It significantly reduces the generation of desulfurization waste liquid in the subsequent sulfur removal process, paving the way for green industry practices and contributing to environmental protection efforts. Moreover, it further enhances the international visibility and influence of our industrial brand.

The ammonia stripping and benzene removal systems in Xinjiang Da'an Steel Coking Project were both designed and constructed by Rio Tinto. After the ammonia stripping system was put into operation, it began producing 20% concentrated ammonia water. Once the benzene removal tower started running, the benzene content in the lean oil exiting the tower dropped below 0.2%. With the entire set of equipment now fully operational, not only have environmental concerns been effectively addressed, but the production and operating costs associated with treating desulfurization waste liquids have also been significantly reduced. This technology has earned high praise from customers thanks to its proven performance.

This overseas project involves transporting the saturator equipment via the Honghu Port Yangtze River Terminal, marking an innovative approach for our company in handling oversized, heavyweight equipment—specifically, enabling on-site fabrication and integrated transportation solutions for such projects abroad. The successful shipment of this project not only ensures the product’s integrity and completeness but also guarantees a high-quality, high-standard delivery!
